Comments and Reviews from users:

Lin Kuei Dragon: “This app is fine, but there are some minor issues including high quality videos and photos, and sometimes certain file types, just appearing black and sometimes folders can be hard to find. Also sometimes audio will not play and shuffle until it finds a file that will play. I thought those problems were just from the phone I had before, but I got a new and updated phone and it still has those problems.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Michael Alex Kawa: “It works and does what it says. Update notice for all people that have been encountering the same issue as I. If after the newest update, the app does nothing, does not load your files and just keeps on buffing with that blue circle, do what I did. Even though I asked Google for assistance, they did nothing to help. So I did what I would do for some other app....Uninstall all the updates, open the app, look around, than go back to the Play Store and Reinstall all the updates. It is now working.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy-to-use interface, quick access to files, option to hide files
Cons Can be slow to load at times, limited cloud storage support

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Not bad, nice design and easy navigation. Missing some key features. For example, there is a 'Categories' tab on the home screen, but the app assigns your folders automatically and you cannot change the default assignment. For example, I have an entire folder of audio recordings that doesn't show up under the "Audio" category and there's seemingly nothing I can do to make them appear there. A 'Storage Analysis' feature is present but *extremely* limited in its capabilities and doesn't actually let you analyze your folders. All it does is show you your largest files, which has very limited usefulness when you're trying to remove clutter and clear up space. It should show a list of folders in my internal storage, along with the folder size and the number of items it contains, with the ability to sort alphabetically or by folder size. The SA feature does break down storage categories i.e. Images, Videos, Audio etc., but again you can't click into these categories and see what is using up the space. Very counter-intuitive. You shouldn't call a feature 'Analysis' if it doesn't let you analyze anything.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Poor app. Every time I open, it keeps begging for permission to access and sync, create and delete files on Google Drive. I dont want to sync anything in the folder. It doesn't appear that there is a way to turn this annoying feature off. So every time I click on anything, I get the nag screen asking for permission. I didnt pay $1000 for a phone that doesn't allow me to thrn off features to avoid constant annoying nag screens. It's why I no longer use the Samsung apps. Tired of nagging.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Fast, simple to understand. My only concern is I'd like a folder for apps. The redundancy of having apps located in settings sleeps be outweighed by having all you information in place. This app also has the added benefits of functioning as a clean up app. Remember, only clean out cache, junk files, duplicates, temp internet filed you don't need. Clearing RAM means your phone uses more battery and time to open them again. Android already has set rules to manage memory.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “I had hopes for this but ended up deleting it shortly after using it. I wanted to have a good file app to transfer files from one folder to another. This takes WAY too long. 17 files took over 2 minutes and the progress meter doesn't work. Other apps are able to move files much faster so there's something different in how this one moves. So I have moved on.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Rosado Elcerebo: “Overall, the app is quite good BUT one major problem with this app on an Android TV. For about a year now, and despite updates, clearing out data and caches etc., the program freezes every 4 1/2 to 5 minutes. This is extremely annoying and I have to restart the video. It then freezes up again in the next time frame. I have stopped using this app altogether now mainly because of this issue.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Murtala Tomiwa Ismail: “I've always been a die-hard fan of Mx player since my first android back in 2010. I loved all the updates. But now I'm using a samsung s20plus, and honestly, there are a lot of bugs. Firstly, while playing audio, after a while, it auto changes track a lot. Secondly, while watching a video, it will suddenly switch to the mini view, which i don't fancy at all. These all started recently after the last update. I have reinstalled the app to no avail. Please do fix these bugs on time. Thanks” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons Occasional bugs and may not be as customizable as some users prefer.

Comments and Reviews from users:

J. Q-M: “Simple, elegant, and loaded with helpful features. And all of it for free. Mobile file management the way it should be. One thing that was missing, the ability to permanently set preferred apps for opening particular files. Example, File Manager doesn't like animated gifs. So, every time I want to view one, I always must choose which other app needs to be used. This, of course, is not the worst problem. I'm sure I can live with it, should the developers choose to never change it.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Keith Williams: “Perfect file app. Best I've found by far. There's a reason it's 4.8 stars (as of now). Absolutely worth paying for the premium version. I only have one small request, the ability to hide SD Card from the main page on phones that do not have a SD slot. On my S21 Ultra it shows SD Card and says "not available". I'd rather it just not show SD Card at all. Better yet, make it so that the user can hide certain tabs or menus they don't want to see.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

LisaMarie Dujon-Lewis: “Great app. Allows for moving, editing, transferring, copying, renaming, organizing, uploading, downloading, compressing, resizing and cropping of all files and folders on your phone. The best part is it practically takes up no space at all. The only improvement I have to suggest is to include an option to change the theme of the app. Maybe have light, dark and auto themes for free. Change colors to red, green, purple etc. with dark, light and auto for a price. I'd pay a dollar or two for that.” – 5/5 in Play Store

blueskylazer: “Fantastic. Could not get es explorer to see external camera attached to my phone. File msnager on phone kept closing app. This app works great with external camera drive and can play the videos perfectly. Con: Only bad thing I could find is that, although it can zoom, the zoom location is not controlable, and the whole screen is center-zoomed. It would be great if the zoom location could be controlled.” – 5/5 in Play Store

William E Bell Jr: “Very straight forward. Great security. Takes a while to lock and unlock files and folders. I would rate it 5 stars if there were three things. 1st faster locking and unlocking of files and folders(holds phone hostage until process is complete), 2nd the ability to temporarily unlock files in the app, 3rd the ability to organize files and folders within the app while locked.” – 4/5 in Play Store

David: “A very good and, these days, much needed app. It is great that it can be used on files in the SD card. A few suggestions for improvements: first, could we have the pin able to be set to a variable number of digits please? Second, could you rename the folders to something much less conspicuous? With the names "FolderLockEncryptedFiles", etc, you might as well name it "TheSecretStuffIsInHere". Problem here if your phone is searched. Same with the obvious icon name. But overall, great app.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Troy Caler: “Very unique way of storing apps. To keep all types for social, music, phone functions, tools and whatnot. Its great for a phone that has a lot of internal storage and memory. Henceforth a phone that has less storage, this app will not be functional. Us humans have a tendency of overloading our phones which in turn slows it down and it might crash just like a big computer.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Josh “Josh” Stephenson: “I do not understand the point of this app. Typically when I would swipe up from my phone, I would be able to see all of my apps that are installed, and I can arrange them in either alphabetical order or in the order that they were added to my device. With this app, different applications are hidden from me and not visible when I swipe up from my home screen. I would much rather be able to see what is installed on my device in one easy place. This app does not make it easy.” – 2/5 in Play Store

No response. *Update* Developer was unable to correct the problem, so they issued a full refund. (Dev was extremely nice btw.) I appreciate the customer service, however, I would have preferred the full use of the app. My suggestion, if you purchase the full version of this app, do not uninstall it or you may lose access to the full version.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Brian B: “Exactly what I was looking for! Once I saw there were scrollable folder widgets, I bought the Pro version. Initially, a couple of the apps in my scrollable folders had the label but no icon, but they populated a few minutes later. Very customizable, easily reorder the icons, and it is easy to make one window and replicate it, so just change the apps shown and the title of the window and the customizations are already taken care of so all windows look the same. Much better than Foldery.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Sometimes when tapping on a folder the app appears to lock up and restarting it seems to be the only way to fix it. The option to lock the whole app also seems to be missing. Looking forward to future updates.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “The app is really good, by far i just encountered one bug. When i try to move a folder, the files that's in the folder can be moved successfully, but the folder that was moved is still in its origin place but empty. I have to delete that folder every time i try to move it. I would be really glad if you guys fix this. Lennon Horrocks: “A good idea. I hope to use this in the future and to purchase pro. But I want to see more customization options in terms of appearance. A Google user: “Have used Glextor for years. This is a fantastic app manager for Android versions before Pie. After Pie, the widgets randomly change to generic icons with 'Initializing' and no longer function. They have to be completely removed and re-added to screens. So if you're on an older Android version, this is a fantastic app. If you're on Pie, you might want to look elsewhere.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Very cool app! I wanted to be able to have sub-folders in any launcher and now I can! Things to do, to make the app perfect: Enable an icon view for groups (currently there is only a list view of groups). More themes or better yet, custom themes (the included themes are good but don't match my phones theme), add a way to hide some of the scary options that can reset everything. Overall, this is she great app and I'll use it even without these changes but they would help. Thanks for a great app.” – 5/5 in Play Store
