Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “This is a driver. Not an app. If it's preinstalled on your device, it means your device's hardware supports the ANT+ communication protocol, (Similar to Bluetooth and NFC) and this driver is required for it to function. The ANT+ protocol was developed by Garmin, and is frequently to communicate with smart devices. (watches, fitness trackers, etc) This driver cannot be uninstalled for the same reasons you cannot uninstall the Wifi driver, or the NFC driver, or the Bluetooth driver. It only takes up 2.27 MB of your storage. It will not run or use system resources (RAM, battery, CPU, etc), unless a running app requires the ANT+ communication protocol. It's probably in Play Store, and not built into the operating system (like most of the other drivers are) to allow for easier updates. If it was built into the system, updating it would require a system update, which would have to be approved and pushed by the device manufacturers. It's also in the Play Store for users who don't have hardware that supports ANT+ but do have a dongle that supports it. TL;DR: It's a driver. Not an app. It's important. It's small (2.27 MB). It won't use ram or other resources unless another app needs it. Don't worry about it.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “The ANT+ plugins are only useful if you use fitness apps or a connected watch. I understand that many people are interested in these and it's easier to include them by default. But... they should be allowed to be removed. And some ANT plugins DO use battery quite a lot.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I have an LG phone that did *not* come with this app pre-installed and unremovable. It also allows me to selectively accept permissions (i.e., Facebook doesn't have access to my media files). Zero bloatware. Decided to install 🐜+ for Endomondo (?), and maybe it will help with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Everyone here thinking Samsung and iPhone are the only two options have their heads in the digital cloud. Have fun spending thousands of 💰 💰 for compromised, unsecured devices.” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “ANT is a communication protocol like WiFi or Bluetooth, and allows your phone to connect to things like smart watches, activity trackers, studio bikes at the gym, even home-automation stuff. It is not Samsung specific, but some Samsung apps (and Garmin and Fujitsu and Adidas and Endomondo and ...) are enhanced by ANT technology. The size on my phone is less than 1MB - less than a single photo - so not exactly bloatware. This "app" allows the hardware to work so on a computer it's known as a "driver". Without it, features on your expensive phone will not work. If you don't update this app, some ANT devices you own may not work, or security leaks may not be fixed, leaving you unhappy. Apart from that the app has no features at all, it simply makes the hardware work so other apps can use it.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Justin Smith: “I installed the app a couple years ago and it worked fine. I stopped using it for a year and, in the interval, they seem to have auto-deleted my account- but they continue to send me emails. The email unsubscribe option loads the app and prompts me to create a new account- there's no option to unsubscribe. Uninstalled the app and now the email unsubscribe option opens the Komoot website, but still required to create an account. So they violate US federal law by not allowing me to unsubscribe.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Eric Mullins: “So far, so good. I was looking for a GPS app that was compatible with my cheap/inexpensive bike computer, and this is the only one that works. The route planning is good and easy to customize already great routes in different areas. The price is respectfully good for full access compared to other apps I have seen. Keep up the good work!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Eco-friendly, Convenient, Affordable
Cons Availability can vary depending on location, May require a helmet, Can be more expensive than public transportation

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “The bikes are great! But an app like this needs to 1) clearly state what the rates are up front 2) show a real-time "meter" of what you currently owe 3) present you at the end of your ride with a total/receipt. It was not intuitive to do any of these things with the app. I paid about 11 bucks for an hour ride on an e-bike, which seemed a little steep but that's not the point. Surely if you can show riders how long they've been riding and how far they've traveled, you can show what they owe...” – 2/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Used to be pretty good, but now they are overpriced, the scooters vary in usability, and the areas they are found in shrank a lot recently. The variance was tolerable when the price wasn't high, but the base fee plus 20 cents a minutes adds up to a price that just isn't worth it. I'm over slow and jerky scooters. Finally, having to take a picture to lock the scooter is inconvenient when you are trying to catch a connecting bus or train.” – 2/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Love this app. I disregard the calorie counter because without more data input there's simply no way it can accurately track calories burned for all body types. Other than that it works great and does exactly what I want it to. I also love that it saves your rides and even tallies them for you.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Works great with a clean interface. Ads are unobtrusive, I would spring for a paid, ad-free version in a second if they offered it. Rides can be exported in GPX format for upload to Strava. Ride history is stored in a SQLite backend which is excellent for analyzing your statistics and generating your own maps. I do wish you could enter height and weight for more accurate calorie metrics.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Cons Can be expensive to get started, requires a lot of space, and can be addictive.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Kiron R: “Terribly unintuitive interface. The icons are not self explanatory. One doesn't know how much left in the tour chosen, not easy to find past activities, too many random pieces of info, the notification sounds seem to sound randomly. I'm sure it all makes sense IF you know it. But it's not intuitive.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Feras A: “Would end my subscription if there was a better option. The UI needs work, loading times are ridiculous for the mediocre graphics, and syncing with my devices takes too long. And why doesn't it stay synced when I go back to the home screen?!? A recent update also screwed up the resolution on my external 1600×900 monitor. The image is stretched and is unplayable. Cons Can be buggy at times, and some features are only available with a paid subscription.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Daniel McComb: “I like the esthetics of the new app but functionally, it's flawed. Specially, heart rate zone screen on old app was way better. It had two things that served to motivate me. The old screen showed the beginning number of the next level so I visually knew how hard I had to push to hit the next zone. I also found the name of the old zones to help motivate me to the next level (fat burn, aerobic, etc) were more motivating than "zone 2" / "zone 3". Old screen was motivating, New screen disappoints.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Matt DuPree: “The app can only work if you turn off Adguard. I can't imagine why a device for calibrating a trainer would need to call outside in a way that the Adguard would not like it, but that's how it goes. It works, but I spent more time troubleshooting this than I should have, and don't especially trust Wahoo enough to permit their app to have all the permissions they want.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy to use, provides detailed insights, helps athletes track progress and stay motivated.
Cons Can be expensive, some features may not be necessary for all users, requires a paid subscription to access all features.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Biggest issue is that it does not work AT ALL when not connected to the internet... can't view my planned workouts for the day or enter any data about a workout I've done. The interface is ok, but there isn't an easy way to repeat a workout over multiple days. It also only pairs with specific devices/heart rate monitors rather than having a means to connect to any Bluetooth enabled devise. I can't say there is a better app out there, but I'd honestly prefer to use a self made excel spreadsheet.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Dan Beckett: “It's the gold standard for training software, but a bit pricey. Is it really worth $12 monthly? I'm not sure - we'll see if using these metrics helps me get faster. The mobile app needs better data labels on "Laps" charts. You have to double tap to see a measurement, and the pop-up then obscures the contiguous lap. Not ideal from a UI or data viz standpoint.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Pros Structured training plans, real-time data analysis, and workout sharing are valuable advantages.
Cons User interface can be improved for better user experience and occasional bugs need to be addressed.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “New revision removed heart rate workouts, which were my reason for using the program. In power workout, you can only see one trend at a time. Also, you can't directly enter a power value directly, only adjust with plus and minus - making big jumps hard to do. Who wants to maximize button presses when you're on a bike? E: FTP test is still there, you go to your profile to find it. Also the new interface is somewhat better in landscape than portrait, but still worse than the old UI.” – 2/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “App has a lot of potential. Just need to make more robust. Connecting to their own trainer is unreliable. Also app crashes more consistently than it connects. The neo is an awesomely engineered piece of gear. It deserves an app that is equally impressive. It's simply not anywhere near the same caliber as the hardware......come on TACX! You can do better. I was referring to the Windows version. The Android vetsion is actually quite good. I did not report the crashes of the Windows app.” – 4/5 in Play Store

At first it did fine, but then It would stop tracking at the same spot, a mile short of my other rides. Then, my last ride, I turned it on, did my ride, and it failed to track at all. Need to try something else.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Geoffrey Sherwood: “Great app. It is very configurable and handles my magene cadence sensor perfectly. I'm able to set up a page with a map, speed, cadence, distance, and average speed in one page with another page for everything else. A Google user: “Elite version . Does everything it said but too clunky. It's a right faff around to import a route. I don't know why you would hide this behind loads of menus. (It's under advanced for some reason). V Good for displaying information but on the whole I found it too confusing with 'path' and 'track' etc. meaning different things and the map needs to zoom in towards junctions. Was hoping after spending ages working out how to import a route it would follow it and do something if you went wrong but to be fair it doesn't advertise turn by turn route following. Or maybe I just couldn't work it out. After ages messing about with it I'm giving up.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “I've used Cyclemeter for nearly 5 years, across 3 devices (iOS & Android), and it's been amazing on all of them. There are a bunch of reasons why I love it: • THE BEST support I've ever encountered, for any product or app. Super quick, friendly, helpful, and willing to answer weird questions. • Unlike some other apps, it lets you define custom activities (I've used it for biking, running, walking, hiking, inline skating, and moped rides) and track all of them both individually and in combination—this was a big deal for me when I started working out, because I didn't feel like I was being shamed for "just" walking every day! • Tons of export options, including automatic post-workout sharing/export, Strava/MyFitnessPal sharing, and bulk downloading of data for preservation/backup. • The "Plans" feature is incredibly powerful, if slightly counter-intuitive; I just finished a 5K running plan with it, but you could just as easily use it for interval training, calisthenics-style workouts, whatever. • Fully customizable audio feedback including pace warnings, distance markers, interval changes, etc. etc. So yeah, one of the best apps I've ever used. Thanks, & keep up the good work!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Molly Snodgrass: “So far so good. I wasn't expecting Sufferfest to collapse into SYSTM. Will really miss that brand and style for the overall app. Open to trying it but does feel a bit more corporate and lame. Looking forward to testing more of the new videos. On Android, I'm not able to play any of my music apps simultaneously which is frustrating. Also hoping that long term there will be a way to simultaneously stream Netflix, etc similar to the desktop setup. A lifesaver for long indoor winter rides!” – 4/5 in Play Store

Michael Byrne: “Great app. Works well, content is varied, really engaging and reportedly growing. I was a sufferfest fan from way back when. Windows app is also great. Three things: - Pairing with a trainer can be repeatedly flaky at app startup - Garmin connect sync is broken - Can't be run from a browser in windows (you need the app, so if you can't install apps - like on a work laptop - then you're out of luck).” – 4/5 in Play Store

When I enable the barometer the elevation drops (0 meter and no elevation dağa afterwards) happen when screen is off, when the barometer is disabled the elevation profile is still not accurate. In the last ride the climbing was shown as 600m where it should have been around 1k. It might be good to add Google location elevation services to add proper elevation data to the rides.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “I have been using this app for a year now, mostly for biking. It is a great app with all the features of an expensive bike computer. The battery use is the best advantage of all. It will last my three hour ride. I did upgrade to the pro version, but the price was worth it. I have it paired with two sensors, cadence and speed, and it is working well. My only wish is to be able to edit my route online using a larger screen.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Jim n AZ: “This app integrates well with my Schwinn IC4 indoor bike. In fact with the upgrade to pro here's just some of what I can see from my stationary bike (average and max): time, distance, power (watts), cadence, heart rate (with the Schwinn sensor) and speed. I have read of variances between apps and the readings on the Schwinn but with this app there was no difference at all, not even a delay. The connecting sequence: App, IC4, HRM, IC4 Bluetooth Button. Quick connection!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Derek Weaver: “I've used this app a few times now to track my rides. The elevation and speed graphs are really nice. The mapping seems to be very accurate which is kinda of surprising as I don't have cell service for most of my rides. I don't use any cycle computers or a smart watch so the free version is all I need. Overall very satisfied with the app.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Peter De Fazio: “I mean, it's pretty good at most of what it's supposed to do, but it is not so reliable when connecting to the bike for every ride. The motor tuning function is excellent and the map tracking works well, although it's occasionally glitchy when uploading to komoot. The bike is awesome though. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Gaven Tang: “Update: problem fixed within 1 day of reporting it! Way to go Trek! The app was amazing and 5/5 stars up until the Jan 31st 2023 update. Since then I have not been able to use the app on any of my devices. It crashes as soon as I allow it permissions to access my location. I have tried debugging by clearing data/cache and by reinstalling. Does not work on any of my 3 phones and my tablet.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Jules M: “updated review after excellent assistance fm the Dev 2 help dial in settings 2 meet my physiology. Now set up, my power readings appear more realistic compared to Strava's own in-app calculations. U need the location permissions set to Always on for the GPS to work correctly for outdoor use. My ride was accurately recorded, consistent to my Garmin watch. I'd give 5* if had connection 2 my cadence sensor & could be displayed on my bike computer. Good alternative 2 an expensive power meter” – 4/5 in Play Store

Vinnie: “A sign in option would be better imo. Have managed to get it working thanks to docs. Didnt realise you needed an ant for pc as cannot use zwift on same phone. Will test further and see if having any issues. Loving it thus far. You dont have to spend a grand on a power metre. I” – 5/5 in Play Store

Kellan Reierson: “Works great at detecting cars. Only issue is I wish the notification sounds could be changed and there be more notification types. For example if there was a different sound for a car close and not in the passing zone. Also the all clear sound is hard to hear compared to the carback sounds.” – 4/5 in Play Store
