Comments and Reviews from users:

Christi Reynolds: “Has a lot of great features! I am using it to study for the GRE. You can add specific words to your "to learn" list, which is great. However, they only provide one meaning of any word, and the flashcards are a little glitchy sometimes, not allowing you to see their meaning of the word at seemingly random intervals. Plus, there are a few GRE words they don't have. But hey, I appreciate the app a lot regardless!” – 4/5 in Play Store

Mehdi Ferasat: “Everything's awesome about this app. One of the best ways to learn vocabularies. I even purchased pro membership. Just the last update was a bummer. Most pictures are not shown and I can't access "topics of interest" . Say for example I want to study all the words about "family". I can choose the icon but no way to access the words. Please fix it. This is important to me.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Raul Sandoval: “Ptetty good for learning words. I'm using this along duolingo and I've started new lessons on duolingo having already known some words because of this app. It has a built in SRS system which I find really useful. One of the great things about this app is that you can unlock the rest of the courses by simply learning and reviewing words. You'll also not be bothered by annoying ads. Despite how good this app is I do feel like it has flaws. Words are sometimes (maybe even most of the time?) not gendered. Grammar is non-existent. In my opinion, learning phrases/sentences seems counter-intuitive to learning a language when it doesn't teach you how to form the sentence or what each individual word means in the sentence/phrase. If some of these can be addressed this could possibly be one of the best free french learning apps in the store.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Jess H: “I really like this app and think it is a great way to learn vocabulary. I am also trying out the Italian and Polish versions and they are equally as good. There are two things I would like to see added 1) A better writing tool. The writing tool for the alphabet isn't easy to use and I have skipped most of the exercises as a result. 2) Verb conjugation. Whilst it's great for vocabulary, I don't feel like you get a good understanding of grammar from it. If this was added, it would be perfect.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Jordan Skinner: “Really well-designed app. It's exactly what I was looking for to help broaden my Spanish vocabulary. However, the free mode is a little too restrictive. You cannot add ANY more words if you have 20 or more that you are "learning", and the app takes weeks to decide you have learned them, so you get stuck in a bottleneck of practicing words you already know. I get having to make money - but it's also important to have a usable app. I would reccomend changing this setup or at least the word limit.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Sabrina O: “Overall, I like how easy this app is to use, but I think I was too quick to spend money on it. Actually studying with it isn't very nice. I'm constantly having to turn the sound and romanisation on and off so I don't cheat myself and it's really frustrating. Also, you can mass important cards, but then it's gives them to you all at once instead of spreading them out. If a way to toggle the sound and romanization for the back and front of cards is added then I would give it a higher rating.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Neo Dallmeyer: “It's completely free and I love that. this taught me some words that I never even knew existed. (yes my grammar is poor). every couple hours or so, I will get a notification for a new word. I love it, 100% recommend. Update: there is a premium that is really good. 19 bucks a year (after a WHOPPING 30 DAY free trial) and you can choose different backgrounds/themes, AND specify what type of word you would like to learn. It's amazing! (But they won't continuously prompt you to get premium)” – 5/5 in Play Store

Zack Donalds: “Yes! Finally! A daily vocab app with a widget! I love not having to open the app just to see a new word! Way better than the competition! I have 3 suggestions plz consider: 1) it would be awesome if the pronunciation was provided in text in the description, b4 the definition. Like in dictionaries. 2) also if there was a test at the end of the week there was a test to see how much I learned, and score was kept 3) some type of point system for using the app consistently! Thank you!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Annaka Dodd: “Each lesson is short but effective, using spoken word, visuals, and typing to facilitate learning. Advancing through the lessons unlocks study aids and other interesting things. I've heard that certain other language apps use push reminders to get you back to it, but this one doesn't, and I like that. I also feel like I'm actually learning the language and retaining it. Highly recommend.” – 5/5 in Play Store

EvilROo ThePure: “Great and helpful. This app makes learning efficient. I will subscribe soon. It suits me well and I appreciate the "Hands free" function for repeating while unable to hold the telephone. For this function mode I would like to have the option to repeat all cards already learned. Also it feels the set of cards is repeated too often before proceeding to next set. The setting does not seem to have effect.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Cons Limited content for some languages, can be repetitive at times, requires a subscription for full access.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I've tried all the language learning apps to brush up on college French. This is by far my fave: the simplest, most user-friendly, and considerate app out there. I've tried other 5-min learning apps, but haven't learned as much in 5 mins! The only things that are missing for me (maybe this comes later?) are listening comprehension and writing and grammar. If I stumble across these later in the app, I'll happily update my review. In the meantime, I'll just supplement with podcasts.” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Very engaging and fun, but equally frustrating. I get the "give you a taste and get you hooked and wanting more" concept, but 5 minutes every 10 hours is just too short a time for me to decide if the app is worth paying for, especially since some of the 5 minute sessions were nothing but review of previous words. If each free session lasted 10-15 minutes AND introduced a hint of something new, I'd be more inclined to upgrade now. For now, I'm waiting a few days to see if it has more to offer.” – 3/5 in Play Store

I also appreciate that it constantly reviews old material, rather than merely piling more knowledge on shaky foundations. I took a star off because the price seems high ($20 a month) and it quickly puts a up a road block if you don't pay up. sad to see knowledge get put behind a pay wall.” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Pros: Easy to read UI Short, easy to follow explanations A variety of exercises for many sections You can sort exercises by level Cons: The default sort is by topic Sorting by level doesn't save at all, even during the same session I would love to see users able to set a default sort because progressing through topics ranging from A1 to C2 without learning other building blocks for sentence structure creates a confusing experience for new learners. Edit: I haven't used the "Homework" module.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Lewis James Savery: “Very good grammar reference with good exercises for each grammar item. Love that it is structured in reference to the CEFR. It's worth noting that the lessons use quite technical linguistic terminology. This may be daunting to a casual language learner, as they might become too focused on understanding the terms used rather than the content of the lesson. This is not a criticism of the product, but rather something for the potential user to consider.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Linda Carnahan: “I enjoy learning through this app. The review really sets the words and spellings in my memory. I would like to suggest that the definition include the word designation, like verb, noun, etc. Sometimes i don't realize the use of the words until I see it in a different app or lesson. If you really wanted to make it great, you could add the etymology because I have to look it up sometimes.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Redneck Rollergirl Derby: “Anyone can make flash cards but having them on your phone is so much more convenient. I can select my subjects, I can read and hear samples of the word used in a sentence and I can review what I need to practice on. I was so impressed with the free trial that I later purchased the app and can say it's the best $5 I ever spent. If I could change anything, I'd like to be able to practice my numbers. Comments and Reviews from users:

prezbo prezbo: “Hi I'm really enjoying this app! Extremely useful and it's clear that a lot of effort was made into compiling it. Amazing to find an app that does not bombard you with a harsh premium mode. Although, I'm having an issue with my sound, so I want to ask how can I unmute my device so I can gain access to the pronunciations? :) Thank you. 🙏🏻” – 5/5 in Play Store

Gabriel Santos: “This app is good for learning new words, But the problem in this is I can't access the pronunciation of words!! In this case I cannot learn them in the rigth way.” – 3/5 in Play Store
