Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “The concept is great! However, it's not the greatest with animal sounds and the extra video clips of the word are super weird and confusing at times. The girl making that is supposed to be making the horse sound sounds like a donkey which can be VERY confusing. This app does help with some things but confusing sounds and video clips at the same time. Also, a toad is not a frog like in one of the video clips. I could really go on about a lot more but those things mentioned stood out the most.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Ms Claire Smith: “Not a terrible app but flawed. My granddaughter and I would play for about 15 minutes but still be told we didn't reach the goal of playing ten minutes. There were times, not often, where there was no sound. Also we would play game after game and still not be able to, "pop stars", as an award for completing exercises. You're supposed to be awarded after completing two exercises. However, this app captured her attention and she loved taking pictures. I thought, however, the app was a bit pricey.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons The app may not be suitable for all children with ASD, and some users have reported technical issues.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Mm Kk: “In Receptive language the selection of picture from 2, 3, 4 is missing thus it is a basic skill. Also when you ask to find an object on the picture you pose a too long question and there is no way to listen it again. A question should not be longer than an answer that child can emit. For example if a chil can only name objects that means he can say and receive only 1 word. So, a correct question to such a child will be a name of an object. Example: cat. Child must select a cat from 2+ pictures.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Brittney Mackenzie: “I have had this app before for my son and it was great I dont remember ever having to pay for it. Now that I have the free 14 day trial it wont work. It only allows us to play the first matching game and nothing else. Please let me know how we can fix this. With him being homeschooled this is a really good app if it allowed us to play it :)” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Lowered score because subscription is too expensive for how relatively basic the app is (almost 80 cad), plus you are providing research data for free while paying for the privilege to do it. Liked the app before but I have much nicer looking apps that have a lesser subscription price.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Very useful app for parenting. First of all, the user interface is simple and user friendly. It was fairly easy to navigate. In addition, the courses are clearly structured. One course relates to another. Last but not least, the content of the courses are very insightful. The videos plus texts explain every concept with scientific facts and ideas. Definitely recommend!” – 5/5 in Play Store

M Butterfield: “I am loving this app. I've often felt a little lost navigating the "respectful parenting" stage, hearing what not to do, but not really sure what TO do during a child's emotional outburst. This app really lays it out clearly, concisely, with examples. It's set up well for learning and retention, with videos, questions, and content review. I also love that I can get some great and useful information in just 5 minutes a day. I'm truly so pleased with this app.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Features Speech Assistant is a Text to Speech AAC app for people who are speech impaired.
Pros Easy to use, customizable, and can be used with a variety of devices.
Cons May not be suitable for all users, and can be expensive.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I never know when I may be non-verbal. Gone are the days when I would sift through tapes and cassettes for the right message, scrubbing through to get my point across. And while I might see such a thing through a sickly layer of nostalgia, the reality of being non-verbal is not nearly so forgiving. This app helps get the point across when I struggle with words. Saving phrases for later and sorting words to queue up when further explanation is necessary. Finding the voice engine and settings is crucial for intelligibility in stressful situations. I would recommend this to a friend in need.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Very effective, easy to use, and customizable. Does not contain pictures, only text. This makes it unusable for those who can't read. However, I prefer this app over the ones with pictures. As an adult who can read, the others typically seem geared towards children, and have phrases/ words that center on children's needs. I appreciate that I can add my own words, and that it has complete phrases in addition to the words. This is my go to app for the times when I am nonverbal. It's also free!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy to use, visually appealing, and helps users stay on track.
Cons May not be suitable for everyone, and some users may find it too simplistic.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Sage Haff: “I have adult ADHD and this app has helped me utilize my time more efficiently and has made mornings far more pleasant rather than being a treacherous slog. However. It is very hard to find where you can change or cancel a subscription. I think making that much easier to locate would be a very smart move, (unless I am stupid or blind) because it currently seems, to me at least, a little nefarious how hard it is to locate. Or, just have a flat charge and steer away from a subscription method. <3” – 4/5 in Play Store

Jessi S -Kintatsujo-: “No nonsense-doesn't expect you to hook up your entire Google calendar just to put together a first routine. Has decent templates to start from in case you open the thing and your brain just blanks. Ran into a couple of glitches, emailed the dev and they got fixed right away. I already HAD a morning routine and this cuts the time I spend on it in half because I'm not staring at the wall trying to remember what I was doing next. edit: needs a way to turn off sounds.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Cons Can be repetitive and may not be suitable for all learning styles.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “This app has really opened my son up. My son does speak but he mainly repeats back what ever is said to him. I was worried that an app like this might make him stop trying to speak & start to rely on the app to communicate but it hasn't at all. In fact it has done the opposite! He is starting to communicate more often & more independently. If you have a child that can speak but doesn't communicate freely & independently you MUST TRY THIS APP OR ONE LIKE IT! We owe it to their beautiful minds!” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “English teacher here - have been using it as class material. The students selects the words at random & then create a sentence. To make it more difficult, I create my own 1st word & they then have to select their 3 words to go with that in order to make their sentences. I haven't yet put in my own cards, but I will be doing that for connection with previous classes. Good for all levels. A very useful app - recommended 👍🤓” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Tamara O: “This app is worth every penny! My 3 year old started seeing a speech pathologist 3.5 months ago, once a week, for her articulation. It cost $600 a month. I wasn't impressed with her progression, especially considering the cost. I came across SpeakEasy, started the trial, and after doing 3 activities I knew I wasn't canceling! Great techniques & advice, and I saw immediate results! It's only been a few days. I highly recommend it!! It works. You and your child will love it.” – 5/5 in Play Store

007artfreak: “Very in depth material yet simple. This is a great app to keep track of your progress with both your kid and yourself. I'm horrible with staying consistent especially when it comes to my childs education but this app disciplines you to stay on track. The guest version has plenty of material but I'm really tempted to get the subscription for it. Great app for Parents!” – 5/5 in Play Store

I love this app so much but I have just one problem so I really hope you guys are this, the voice, I love the voice so many great options and different pitches. The only problem is it says things so fast that nobody can understand what I'm trying to say. If you could add speed options or make it speak at a slower pace I would definitely put it at 5 stars.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Aaron Ramone: “great app !! although i think all of the packs of cards within the app should be free. half of the packs you have to get a premium plan and that you have to pay for. in my opinion, in this case, it would be easier to use text to speech. other than that, this is a great app !!! beautifully put together, very easy to find and use things, especially the cards. very simple and easy on the eyes.” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “I like the overall design and functionality... as well as very detailed content... my child will enjoy it, specially the videos. But I think that is a tad HUGE amount of money for an app to pay on top of all the therapies and early interventions that we go through for our kids. Like, really? Yes, quality and all but... that is easily covered with good marketing for this which can be done virtually at almost no cost nowadays online... via social media, etc. (see my review on the ABA app as well)” – 3/5 in Play Store
